It's not always easy to find a decent place to change your child, so you often just have to take what you can get.

And while you don't expect public changing facilities to be luxurious, you do expect them to be safe.

So Hayley Turner was horrified when her son was injured by a changing mat - which had five drawing pins hidden in it!
Hayley from Oxfordshire was in her local village hall, when her son Samuel needed to be changed.

She used the hall's facilities, but was shocked when, seconds after she lay him down, Samuel started screaming at the top of his lungs.

"I dismissed it as him being tired, cold and grumpy so I changed him as quickly as possible," she wrote on her Facebook post, which has been viewed 73,000 times.

"It turns out some lowlife scum thought it would be 'fun' to deliberately put drawing pins in the bottom of the changing mat. Our poor baby boy was laid on pins! And because he isn't old enough to tell me it hurt, he now looks like a pin cushion with five holes in total!"

Understandably, Hayley is furious at this stupid prank.

"Angry doesn't even cover it," she wrote. "It's quite sad to think this has to be done but my word of warning is to check your changing mats."

In response to a barrage of angry comments, her husband Rob later wrote: "Literally fuming about this! Poor innocent baby!

What was going through the mind of the person that did this? My poor boy. Glad he's ok now and hopefully easily forgotten and not left with mental scars. How many other baby's have suffered the same fate?"

Hayley later added: 'Thank you for your concern everyone. Samuel is fine and has since forgotten about the whole thing. His back is much less red now too.

"I on the other hand I'm just in shock that people can be so cruel. I've posted this not to name and shame but more to spread awareness as it certainly wasn't something I would have thought of as a threat before today."

The post has been met with many furious responses from parents who have thanked Hayley for sounding the warning.

Anya Druce wrote: "Oh my god this is awful, and absolutely disgusting to think people would even do this to a baby. Poor little boy. I'm definitely going to be checking the changing mats in future now."

Siobhan Webb said: "Wow that is bad, I hope you have reported this to the place it happened! Shocking! Goes without saying keep an eye on the pin pricks in case of infection. I'm speechless that some sick person would do that to a BABY changing mat!"

Kellie Clark-Hughes added: "What sort of sick person does this?"

Debbie McGoldrick commented: "This is horrendous, I actually feel sick thinking about this. I'm so sorry this happened to you and Samuel."

Danielle Brooks wrote: "I can't believe what I am reading this is horrible! I will share this post so that people will be aware so that this will hopefully never happen again! I can't believe some people can be so cruel!!! Makes my blood boil!"

I don't normally post things like this but I'm guessing if it happened to me it could happen to someone else, so I...
