There's no right or wrong way of coping with the loss of a son or daughter.

But this mum’s coping strategy is heartbreaking.

User LostAndCantBeFound shared her heartwrenching story of how she lives her life as if her son was still around.

The boy died nine months ago, and wasn’t even three years old.

Not only does she still buy him outfits online, she even signs him up for afterschool clubs as a way of coping.

In the post, she revealed her “beautiful son”, called Noah James, was almost three when he passed away.

Since then, her life has “changed massively.”

“I now do stupid stuff, it’s pathetic really, but in a way, it does help.”

She then goes on to explain that in an effort to nurse her heartache she goes about her life as though her boy was still around.

“I will go onto all the shops online and do a while order of clothes, all different age groups, for little boys, I’ll purchase them and then I’ll just send them back…it’s the same with in-store clothes.”

“I sign him up for clubs he'll never go to and when it gets to the day of going, I pretend that we have found somewhere else.”

“I actually go to open days of schools and take a look around, I have been to secondary schools too. It is so ridiculous, but I just cannot help it...”

“AIBU (am I being unreasonable) to do such a stupid thing??? I know it is stupid, but I don't know.”

She shared her heartbreaking story on the parenting site hoping for advice from other mothers.

Other mums were quick to offer their condolences and words of support. “I don’t have anything to add except that I’d like to give you a hug. I’m sorry for the loss of your son,” one said.

Another reassured her that if her coping strategy works for her, that’s all that matters. “Just wanted to say that if this helps you then you are not being unreasonable at all. Massive hug,” she wrote.

Meanwhile, others suggested she seek professional help for her grief, but the grieving mum isn’t convinced.
“I just don’t know if it’ll help much,” she said.

She thanked her fellow users, and told them more about her beloved son.

“He was so perfect - lovely blonde hair and dark blue eyes. He would give the tightest of cuddles, but he would always say "too hard" in a question type way and it never was,” she wrote.

"He loved everything Frozen, he'd always pick out the Anna or Elsa dolls when we went to the shop... But he'd still be obsessed with jumping around in little puddles and laughing when mud got onto his hands. He was so precious.”
