Sarah Turnbull was attending a One Direction concert in Sunderland, UK, when her waters broke during the band’s performance.

Despite being heavily pregnant at time, Sarah said she was still determined to go to the One Direction concert with her daughter, Emma.

“I was determined to go to the concert even though I was heavily pregnant. I bought the tickets over a year ago for my little girl's birthday and I wasn't even expecting then.”

The 28-year-old mum who was then 39-weeks pregnant, thought she only had an accident and decided to stay on till the end of the show.

Sarah was unaware that her waters had actually broken and that she was going into labour.

Turbull only realised what was going on after One Direction finished the performance of their last song, Best Night Ever.

She then headed to hospital, where she gave birth to little Thomas, exactly one week earlier than her due date and six hours after attending the concert.

Sarah and her husband Peter had even considered naming their baby boy after Emma’s favourite One Direction member, Harry Styles. But instead decided to choose Thomas as a name, after Peter’s grandfather.

“My partner can't stand One Direction but we both actually quite liked the name Harry. Eventually we decided it was more sentimental to name him after Pete's granddad.”

Sarah joked that the reason little Thomas wanted to arrive so early was that he was also a big fan of One Direction.

"My aim in the pregnancy was to get past seeing One Direction so I feel like I've achieved that even though Thomas cut it very close. I keep thinking that he must really like One Direction's songs and that's why he came early, he just wanted to be out and to listen to them and party with us. The rest of my family seem to disagree and say that Thomas obviously mustn't have been able to stand the racket any longer!

Sarah said she can’t wait to tell Thomas the story of his arrival when he’s a little older.

“I can't wait to be able to tell Thomas about his dramatic arrival. I'll definitely be making him listen to all of One Direction's songs when he is old enough. Even if he doesn't like them, I'm sure his big sister will make sure that he knows all of the songs off by heart!”
