Ok, we know that allowing toddlers to watch too much TV is not good for them and while we do try our best to switch off as often as possible, sometimes nothing beats cuddling with your little one on the couch when it’s lashing outside.

And if you are anything like us, a number of things will run through your head while watching your youngster’s favourite show.

"This is definitely better/ worse than the previous show"

Once you’re in, you’re never getting out. You will forever be comparing one episode with another – even going as far as asking other mums what they thought....

"Hmmm, I wonder what will happen next"

Admit it a lot of the shows aimed at kids are pretty good. Seriously, many have great storylines, life lessons and cliff hangers. Nothing quite like Postman Pat getting stuck in traffic when he’s got a pretty urgent parcel to deliver to get the heart racing (yes, it’s the simple things in life that we enjoy!)

"They never made shows like these in my day"

Truer thoughts were never spoken! Seriously, we had the CareBears or the Smurfs - nothing quite like the shows toddlers of today are treated to!

"When’s the next episode?"

It’s easy to get sucked into a show, believe us! And if it leaves on a cliff hanger or you have decided it is your new go-to show, you’ll quickly find yourself thinking, “When’s the next episode?”

The theme tune

The theme tune usually sticks with us right from the start until the end and we’ll no doubt find ourselves humming it while we are making dinner or having a cup of tea in the evening. It is just so darn catchy!
