Our favourite twins may be returning to the small screen sooner than expected!

Tia Mowry of Sister, Sister told Us Weekly, “My sister and I are taking meetings as we speak, so it’s definitely closer than ever to making this reboot happen. We are being told that they want it to be or happen next year in the fall. So, it’s going by so fast, everything.”

Us spoke to Tia at the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital’s 18th Annual Mattel party this Sunday, and the actress expressed just how elated she is to show fans how much she and her sister have grown.

“I think fans will love it because I just feel very blessed and honoured that people are still following my sister and I 20 years later. So I think they’ll be excited to see where we are right now and to see our dynamic right now. We’re just excited to just give back to the fans and make them happy, that’s really one of the main reasons why we’re doing it,” Tia said.

39-year-old Tia has one son, six-year-old Cree, with her husband, He’s Just Not That into You actor Cory Hardrict.

Tamera and husband Adam Housley have two children together: four-year-old Aden and two-year-old Ariah. Family bonds run deep, as cousins Cree and Aden are best buddies.

The twins may be mums now, but they still want the new show to focus on what made the original programme so special: the beauty of sisterhood.

“I’d like it to be where we are in our lives right now. We’re moms with children, but I would like for the show to really focus on sisterhood and the strengths and weaknesses of sisterhood,” Tia shared.

The original series ran for six years, from 1994 to 1999, and fans around the globe adored the twins' loving dynamic.

The pair has spent their time since Sister, Sister on a number of different projects, from acting to a foray into motherhood products.

It's so cute to see that the sisters are as close as ever. The public’s been teased with a reboot for years, and we are buzzing to see that the plans may come to fruition.

Hopefully, the Mowry sisters will be ‘shaking up the family tree’ again soon!
