Just a fortnight after announcing that he is expecting his first child with her, Ian took to the photo-blogging site to pay the most romantic birthday tribute to Nikki.
Posting a series of their most adorable photos together, The Vampire Diaries star couldn’t help but gush as he wished a happy 29th birthday to ‘the most amazing human he knows’.
“Today, we celebrate you,” he began. “For an innumerable amount of reasons I couldn’t even begin to describe, as all of those who know you and those who even don’t know you, would agree. It’s your day.”
“The love and light you radiate to the world shines like a beacon for all to see. It’s that love and light that guides me to the safe shores of home from the turbulent and sometimes treacherous waters of life.

This is a particularly special time for the lovebirds, who have been married for two years. On May 4, they revealed that Nikki is pregnant with their first child – and the announcement was just as sweet as you’re imagining.
“In my 38 years on this Earth, I’ve never experienced anything more powerful and beautiful than this. I can’t think of anything more exciting than this next chapter, and we wanted you to hear this from us first,” wrote Ian.
The actor shared a gorgeous photo of himself kissing Nikki’s bump while she cradled her belly, draped in a light-blue dress.
