A story of a young boy and his do, Jedi, is going viral online at the moment, and for good reason.

Luke Nuttal is a seven-year-old boy who suffers from the dangerous type one diabetes, so any drop in his sugar levels is cause for concern.

Thankfully for Luke, he has a very special sniffer dog called Jedi, who has been trained to recognise when Luke's blood-sugar levels are low (pretty amazing, right?)

Anyway, Luke's mum Dorrie recently shared a story of one specific night where Jedi saved Luke's life.

It was the middle of the night, and the entire Nuttall family were sleeping, except for Jedi, who began jumping up onto Luke's parent's bed.

Dorrie eventually woke up, and checked her son's monitor to discover that all seemed normal, but Jedi would not back down.

"I knew he meant business and the sleepy fog started to wear off" she writes in this amazing Facebook post.

Dorrie pricked her son's finger to test his blood, to discover that his sugar levels were dangerously low, despite thh fact that the monitor was normal.

Luke ended up being fine, after Dorrie administered the necessary medicine.

Thank goodness for that wonderful and smart dog.
