After firing Kevin Spacey from House of Cards, the series' team decided to bring in two ringers to bolster the cast.

The show was shut down for months after Kevin, the star and executive producer, was fired following allegations of sexual assault.

New cast members Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear will be the perfect people to breathe new life into House of Cards, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Both actors have been nominated for Oscars, so they'll definitely be able to hold their own against Robin Wright's powerful Claire Underwood.

Not much is known about 54-year-old Greg and 53-year-old Diane's roles, but The New York Times reports that their characters will be brother and sister.

We can't wait to the pair potentially battle it out with Claire, who at the end of the fifth series became the 47th President of the United States.

The diabolical politician also turns to the camera in the finale, saying 'My turn', showing that she'll definitely be the focus of this upcoming season.

She's a formidable character, so Diane and Greg better be ready to step up to the plate!

Production for the sixth and final season has resumed, though there is no premiere date set for when it returns. The season will be eight episodes long.

What do you think of Diane and Greg as additions to the House of Cards cast?
