According to reports, the mother of little April who was found in an Amusement Arcade yesterday evening, has now been found.

Police issued an appeal earlier today in a bid to find the mum who they believed might be at risk of complications after giving birth in a disabled toilet.

While no details of the mother have been released, police say she is currently receiving medical treatment.

After tracing the mother to an address in the Merseyside area, Superintendent Claire Richards said: "I would like to thank the local community, the online community and the media for their assistance in this matter."

An urgent appeal has been made to find the mum of a newborn baby girl found in Southport amusement arcade toilet.

According to reports, the little girl was found inside the disabled toilets at Silcock’s Amusement Arcade and staff there have named the youngster April.

Merseyside police are urgently looking for the mother, who they state is not in trouble, as it is believed the birth was unsupervised and they are worried about her health.

The discovery was made by staff at 19:00 on Thursday and the baby has since been cared for at Ormskirk Hospital where a 24 hour phone-line has been set up to allow the mum make contact.

Urging the mum to come forward, Detective Inspector Mike Dalton says: "Our primary concern is for the health of the girl's mother. She is not in any trouble."

"I would urge April's mother to urgently come forward or at least seek treatment, as she could suffer medical complications, which are potentially very dangerous," he added.
