Listen, we love the Royal family, and we love cake, but this is honestly just madness.

Six years ago, Prince William married his long time love, the beautiful Kate Middleton, in a lavish ceremony in London.

The centrepiece of the celebration (excluding the beautiful bride, of course) was the eight-tier wedding cake.

Designed by baker to the stars, Fiona Cairns, the cake took almost five weeks to create, and truly was a piece of confectionery art.

And now, you can get your very own slice of the action (excuse the pun), as a piece of the wedding cake is being auctioned for charity.

Is it gone off? Probably, but what a groovy keepsake to have.

The slice is set to go under the auction hammer at Chiswick Auction House on September 27, with the price starting at $1,300 (bargain).

For the lucky highest bidder, the slice of cake will come in a specially-designed cream and gold commemorative tin, that is the same tin that was gifted with a slice to guests at the couple’s royal reception back in 2011.

The tin will also come with a special card, reading “With best wishes from TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall in celebration of the wedding of TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.”

As the auction house explained, the royal wedding cake was meant to reflect the “language of flowers,” which Kate specifically requested.

Along the eight beautiful tiers, the cake had 17 different types of foliage that each held a particular meaning. The elaborate cake was covered in cream icing and adorned with 900 sugar-paste flowers, including roses and apple blossom.

I wonder if it's still edible?
