The last thing any mum wants is to upset her child.
And we would do anything to make sure that nothing at all makes them feel sad or unhappy.
Which is why we totally understand Busy Philipps' meltdown recently, following her family holiday to Hawaii.
The mum-of-two girls - Birdie, 9, and Cricket, 4 - took to Instagram stories a few days ago, upset and teary-eyed, it was clear that something had happened since they left their resort.
And when you realise what had the mum so upset you'll totally understand.
"Guys, I ended our wonderful family vacation with a total parental fail," the actress said in her stories, according to ETOnline.
"Birdie's favorite, bear, Radar, and her other bear, Flat Bear, were left."
So now you know why she was so upset.
But that's not all.
Leaving your child's most prized possession is devastating enough but when one of the bears had been passed down, it's even worse.
"I know it's just a mistake and these things happen," the mum-of-two continued.
"But it's like, you know, f**k, it's like the worst when you're a parent and it's like your responsibility to keep everything straight and... She just was so heartbroken.
"Also, Radar was my bear when I was a kid. And Birdie just wrote a whole thing in English class about how it was her most prized possession, because it had been mine."
We totally feel for poor Busy right now: we can only imagine how she felt having to tell Birdie that Radar and Flat Bear were no longer with them.
Yesterday there was some good news though: Radar had been located and was on his way back to his family!
Flat Bear, unfortunately, is still at large so if anyone sees him, give Busy a message - 'cause we're all rooting for the bear's safe return.
