Hollywood is in shock this morning, following the announcement that one of its seemingly rock-solid couples have called it a day.
After eight years of marriage, Chris Pratt has announced that he and wife Anna Faris are ‘legally separating’.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star took to Facebook to confirm the news to his fans.
“Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating,” wrote the star, who shares five-year-old Jack with Anna.
“We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed.
“Our son has two parents who love him very much, and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward.
“We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another.”
As you can imagine the comment section was flooded with messages of surprise and disappointment from fans of both stars.
“I know it's ridiculous to care about a relationship involving two people you've never met. I know it's crazy how much society today value celebrities and their lives. But I honestly am saddened to hear this just because they seemed so perfect for each other,” wrote one, capturing the general consensus.
Another added: “Sorry to hear that. Remember what Mrs. Doubtfire said: You are still a family, no matter if you are a different kind of family. You have to love each other, no matter what.......”
It sounds like Chris and Anna most definitely have Jack’s best interests at heart. We wish them well.
