On the fact of it, they had the most amicable celebrity split of all time, but there is one thing that Gwyneth Paltrow regrets about her ‘conscious uncoupling’ from Chris Martin.
Gwyneth confirmed the split in a statement on her lifestyle website GOOP back in March 2014, following 10 years of marriage.
In a new interview, however, Gwyneth has admitted that if she had her time all over again, she probably wouldn’t choose to announce the split in such a public manner.
She told LinkedIn: “It sort of wouldn’t be appropriate now. It [GOOP] is a much bigger business and I’m not sure it would be the right place to do something like that.”
She qualified her comments by adding that GOOP wasn’t the heavy-hitter it is now in the online world, and the personal nature of the statement matched the tone of the site at the time.
“At the time, it was still very small and very personal. It was such a difficult time in my life and I was trying so hard to protect my children and my family, Chris included. We were both fragile. It was really tough. To me, it felt like this is a quiet way to do this, and it is contained,” she added.
Gwyneth and Chris are, of course, parents to 12-year-old daughter Apple and 10-year-old son Moses.
