There has been speculation that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are trying to have a third child, and back in June it was reported that the couple had made a deal with a surrogate mother to carry their child.
While the couple haven’t confirmed this, during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kim revealed that they are actively “trying” to have a third child.
Kim made the comment during the interview which was held to celebrate 10 years of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. However, she didn’t elaborate on whether the couple were trying to conceive naturally or with the assistance of a surrogate.
"I hope so," she said. "There have been a lot of things said, and Kanye and I have not confirmed anything. We're definitely trying. We are hoping so.”
Kim suffered from a condition known as placenta accreta during her second pregnancy. This means the placenta grows blood vessels into the uterus and, rather than being completely expelled during birth, the placenta stays attached to the uterine walls.
After baby Saint was born, Kim revealed that her doctor had to “scrape” pieces of her placenta off the walls of her womb.
The condition can be life-threatening, and Kim has been advised not to get pregnant again because of this.
Kim explained that having another baby could mean she would need to have her uterus removed.
“They think I’ll have placenta accreta again, so if the placenta grows a little bit deeper than it did last time, then they are prepared to have my uterus removed, which is a little scary for me,” she said.
In the past, Kim had said she was content with two children, but earlier this year she revealed that she and husband Kanye were considering having another child.
On an episode of KUWTK, Kim revealed her plans, saying: "I'm going to try to have one more baby. I want my kids to have siblings."
She added: “After Paris, I feel the need to bring another soul into this world.”
Kim shocked her family with the sudden announcement but quickly added she was considering surrogacy due to her medical condition.
“I know Kanye wants more kids though, so we are going to explore our other options,” she told concerned mum Kris Jenner.
“I’ve come to the conclusion in my mind that I can’t carry another one. So now I want to explore surrogacy,” she added.
