Do you find yourself saying ‘yes’ to everything in an effort to please everyone?

Are you being stretched to the limits trying to keep all the plates spinning?

Well then, we hate to break it to you, but you’re a people pleaser.

While a lot of this goes hand-in-hand with being a mum, sometimes we need to say ‘no’ to make sure our own wellbeing is being looked after.

Sometimes our constant ‘yes’ attitude is our way of making sure people don’t think we’re selfish or uncaring.

But the stress this fear of being disliked or of making the unpopular decision causes is doing more harm than our compliance is doing good.

We need to start caring about our own feelings as much as we care about others.

It is ok to say ‘no’.

It is ok to tell someone ‘I don’t have time’.

It is ok to say ‘that’s not really my thing, but have fun’.

We need to make out a budget, a budget of how much time we give to others and how much we give to ourselves.

As a mum, naturally, one side gets more attention than the other, but there still needs to be an ‘other’.

We need to take some time to make ourselves the priority.

Jada Pinkett-Smith was asked the question “how hard is it being a wife and a mother?” and we think her answer is something we all need to hear.
