The process of deciding upon your baby’s name is always special, no matter what the circumstances may be, but we’re particularly touched by the method used by Katrina Ingham.
Katrina found out that she was pregnant just months after her mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Knowing that her mother would not be around to meet her grandchild, Katrina chose a very special way for her to be a part of that child’s life: she asked her mother to choose the baby’s name.
Katrina and her partner chose to keep the big reveal a secret, and so – with the help of her other daughter, Sarah – the grandmother-to-be picked out the name and organised for the surprise to be unveiled on the day of his birth.
The couple recently welcomed a son into the world, and a camera was rolling as Sarah presented them with a box as part of the big reveal.
In the footage, Katrina and Danny can be seen pulling out a babygro with the name ‘Harrison’ on the back – and both are clearly overjoyed with the choice.
Katrina’s mum also had a few other surprises planned, much to her delight: “The delivery room was filled with our mum's things and pictures, so she felt close to us and everything was perfect. Welcome to the world baby boy. We love you so much already.”
