Wow, this is seriously emotional. Tissues are a must.
That moment when a mum holds her baby for the first time is the most magical, emotional experience imaginable. But what if you can’t hold your baby for a number of days, or even weeks?
One mum, 31-year old Lyndsey, gave birth prematurely to her son Ward. He was a tiny 1.5 pounds and so she couldn’t hold him, not just yet.
However, after four days, Lyndsey could finally hold her son in his arms – and Ward’s dad Ben filmed the tear-jerking moment, which was shared on Hefty.co.
Tenderly Lyndsey picked her son up and brought him gently to her, a look of awe and emotion on her face, before breaking down in tears. At that point, Ward had a strong cerebral haemorrhage and doctors said they didn’t know if he would survive, no doubt making this moment all the more poignant for mum.
But there’s a happy ending to this story, as after 107 days little fighter Ward pulled through, and is now a happy, healthy chubby baby.
Our thoughts go out to all the mamas who have been through this, and especially to those whose angel babies are now in heaven.
