They say a picture says a thousand words, and in the case of this snap of a mum seconds after giving birth, it couldn’t be truer.
Many mums can recognise this moment: after nine long months of waiting, hoping and dreaming, finally you get to meet your baby. It’s nothing short of magic, and fills us with more emotion than we ever thought possible.
So we love the photo dad Ryan Ostle snapped of his wife Kylie, mere seconds after giving birth to their new baby. And blown away by the raw emotion in the image, Kylie felt compelled to share it.
“Remember ‘that’ moment!” she captioned the snap on Facebook page Mum’s Society. “As women, we really are just incredible! This picture took my breath away and I had to share because I bet you remember too!”
And now every time she looks at the photo the magic over takes her all over again, reminding her of what’s truly important in life.
“Sometimes it's easy to lose sight of what's important,” she told Mail Online.
“After I shared my photo and it was liked over 1,600 times, I realised that moment and that feel-good message is worth spreading.
“I am almost a week after giving birth and I'm still riding the most incredible high.
“Every time I look at that photo I feel it again.”
