We ADORE Fergie – she has been so strong through her separation from her husband of eight years, Josh Duhamel, and now she’s spoken out about the unfair expectations put on working mothers.

In an interview with ITV, the Black Eyes Peas singer showed just how great a mum she is. She described her four-year-old, Axl, as the sun ‘which we as the planets spin around’.

The 42-year-old songstress also made it clear that she is NOT okay with the fact that working mums are shamed for their choice to go back to work, but working dads are considered the norm.

Fergie said to ITV, “It’s funny because … the men can have all the career in the world and still have children, but if you’re a mom and you have a career, it’s the mommy shaming. ‘You can’t do that anymore, you’re a mom!’”

We hear that! We love that the chart-topping artist isn’t letting mummy-shaming get her down.

Being away from Axl isn’t easy, and she noted, “I remember going to the studio the first couple times and sobbing in the car. It was the weirdest thing ever. That had never happened to me in my life.”

It’s so hard to be away from our little ones, but by the sound of it, Fergie is making the best of the time she spends with Axl.

The four-year-old sings around the house, just like his talented mum. Axl even dressed up as Peter Pan this year – and made his mum be Tinkerbell!

Fergie’s response?

“He’s the boss.”

The musical streak in Axl even resulted in him being featured on a track of Fergie’s new album! You can hear her son’s voice on the song ‘Enchanté (Carine)’.

Fergie’s latest album Double Dutchess was released on September 22 this year. It's also the first solo album she’s released in 11 years!

Go Fergie! She’s rocking being a parent and a pop star.
