They tend to keep their personal life under wraps, but this week Jessica Biel has opened up about marriage, parenthood and life with Justin Timberlake.
While we are often treated to a sweet tribute or photo of their son, Silas, the couple traditionally prefer their privacy. Jessica, however, was more than willing to share the secrets to marital success in her latest interview.
The 35-year-old, who has been married to the Can’t Stop the Feeling star for five years, credited wedded bliss to being understanding and sharing similar passions.
“We have similar values; we believe in loyalty, honesty. We like to have fun. We like a lot of the same things,” she told Marie Claire.
“Also, in the business, we’re all very career-oriented, and you have to be a little selfish. I understand that about my peers – about being focused and driven – and if you can find that someone who shares the same values as you, it’s like, score!”
Jessica and Justin began dating in 2007, following their respective splits from Chris Evans and Cameron Diaz. After a brief split, the couple got engaged in December 2011, and wed one year later.
The stars have previously credited the birth of their son, in 2015, with bringing them closer together – and changing their priorities in life!
“You think you’re a selfless person, and then you realise you’re not,” mused Jessica, who posed up a storm for her accompanying cover shoot.
“These little people come around, and they require so much, and your schedule is really not your own…and it’s very clear that it’s your life now, revolving around this dude.
“I’m not that person who feels like, ‘Oh, my whole life changes for my kid’, but it does.”
Jessica’s latest comments come just weeks after she paid tribute to Justin for being the perfect husband and father.
Sharing a sweet photo collage to Instagram, the star of USA Network’s new drama, The Sinner, gushed: “To my beloved husband, my adventure companion, my road dog, who works tirelessly for this family, and gives of himself energetically and spiritually ever day…
“I am eternally grateful for you and your love. As Silas likes to say, ‘You are so much cool.’ I love you to the moon and back.”
It’s always interesting to hear how the celebs approach their relationships and parenthood – while they may lead a completely different lifestyle to us, we really aren’t all that different.
