During this time of year a homemade vapour rub is just the ticket to clear little ones' noses and help them breathe easier – and because this recipe is all-natural you can use it as often as you like.
We’ve waxed lyrical before about the wonder of coconut oil, so what better base ingredient for this homemade vapour rub? The eucalyptus and tea tree work as decongestants, while the lavender helps kids nod off in no time.
Ingredients
5-10 drops eucalyptus (safe for children over 6 months)
3-5 drops tea tree oil (safe for babies over 6 months)
4 tbsp coconut oil (safe for all ages)
2-3 drops lavender (safe for all ages)
How to make (it’s super easy!)
1. Put 4 tbsp coconut oil in a small container (make sure the container has a lid).
2. Add 5-10 drops of eucalyptus oil, 3-5 drops tea tree and 2-3 drops of lavender. Add the smallest amount first and add more as desired.
3. There you have it – your own super safe and yummy-smelling homemade decongestant to rub on your little one’s chest or onto their pillow to aid a peaceful sleep.
