We’ve all experienced that sense of dread when it comes to putting on our old clothes after months of maternity wear.

While some items are forgiving, and allow room for those extra pounds gained during pregnancy, jeans are a whole other kettle of fish.

Doing up the top button of a pair of pre-pregnancy jeans can involve Herculean effort, and most of the time we end up reaching for a pair of maternity jeans and a belt.

However, there is one handy trick you can try next time you’re struggling.

YouTuber and mum-of-three Anna Saccone recently demonstrated how she fits back into her jeans, and it’s remarkably simple.

Anna shared a photo of herself on Instagram wearing a purple floaty top and a pair of fitted denim jeans.

“Four months postpartum, and I'm finally fitting into my pre-pregnancy jeans...NOT!!” she wrote.

Anna's post has a second photo and, when you scroll through, she is seen posing with her top pulled up to reveal her stomach - showing that her jeans are actually held up with a hair-tie, because she can’t close the button!

“This hair-tie trick is the biz if you're either side of a pregnancy, have eaten too many brownies, or are just feeling bloated,” the popular vlogger wrote.

She added: “Also, just wanted to give an example of how what you see on Instagram isn't always necessarily ‘real’ - I mean, God knows what other tricks I might have hiding under my floaty tops!”

We think the hair-tie trick is ingenious and, best of all, pregnant mums can use it as well as those who are post-partum!

Anna and her husband, Jonathan Joly, welcomed their third child, a baby girl named Alessia, in March. They have two other young children, Emilia and Eduardo, and all three kids frequently make appearances in their YouTube videos.

The family announced their new baby’s name in true vlogger style, with a special YouTube video. After some gentle persuasion by Jonathan, little Emilia revealed that the tot’s name was Alessia Francesca Saccone-Joly.

The power couple are even letting their older kids get involved in caring for the baby, with Emilia pitching in to help change a nappy. We’re impressed!

We love Anna’s candid post, and this helpful hack – have you ever used the hair-tie trick, mums? Let us know.
