If the relationship you share with your significant other started as a friendship, then chances are you can pinpoint the moment when it suddenly underwent a change.

While undoubtedly significant and a story to wheel out at parties, it may pale in comparison to this high-profile couple's special moment!

Appearing on Loose Women, much-loved comedian, Patrick Kielty, revealed the moment his relationship with wife, Cat Deeley, graduated from friendship to romance.

In a move which unsurprisingly melted the heart of the Brummie presenter, Patrick hopped on a plane and took a transatlantic flight in order to see the beautiful Cat on her birthday.

Recalling the moment for viewers of the daytime panel show, Patrick explained: "There was a moment, we always kept in contact, it was her birthday, she was in LA, I was in Dundrum in Northern Ireland."

Making contact with her in order to mark the special day, Patrick set the scene for the public, saying: "It was around tea time in LA, about kicking out time of the pub, I text her happy birthday."

"She told me it was a shame I wasn’t there as she was having a little party," he continued as he recalled the decision which changes the course of his future.

In a move straight out of a rom-com, the smitten comedian took the So You Think You Can Dance presenter at her word, saying: "I got up at 5, jumped on a plane, arrived at the hotel in LA and she fell off the seat and we’ve been together ever since!"

Not only have they been together ever since, but they tied the knot in 2012 and in September, they announced they were expecting their first baby together.

What a story!
