As Kelly Rutherford prepared to send her two young children to Monaco, back to their father Daniel Giersch, she took to Instagram last night to share an insight into how she is feeling.
The 46-year-old former Gossip Girl star, who has been fighting for eight-year-old son Hermes and six-year-old daughter Helena to remain in the States with her, posted an Instagram quote simply reading: “I won’t give up on us.”
Kelly put on brave face as she went out to dinner with her little ones on what was their final night in New York with her.
It is a particularly tough time for Kelly, as the latest phase of her custody fight failed. The actress was dealt a double blow last month, when courts in both Los Angeles and New York threw out her appeal to have her children remain in the US with her permanently.
The kids were only granted leave to come to New York to Kelly last month while Giersch worked to organise a valid visa for the US.
We can't imagine how difficult this is for Kelly. We're sending her strength to get through this tough time.
