In December 2013, the husband of this world-famous singer underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumour from his throat and this week his wife has spoken out about the impact her husband's diagnosis and recovery has had on family life.

Celine Dion, who is regarded as one of the music industry's most influential voices, postponed her Las Vegas residency in order to care for husband, Rene, whom she married in 1994.

Speaking out about her husband's recovery, the My Heart Will Go On singer insists her husband is 'doing really well', but admits the past two years haven't been plain sailing, explaining: "He can’t eat so I feed him. He’s got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day."

In spite of various high profile commitments, Celine knows where her priorities lie, saying: "It's not hard to take time off. It's not hard to be with him, obviously. It's not hard to be with the family and the kids. It's hard because life imposes things on you."

The 47-year-old star, who has enjoyed one of the most enduring relationships in show business, is positive when looking to the future, saying: "We know the path that he's going, the treatments. I knew he was amazing. He's such a champ. He's working hard on that."

Celine, who is 26 years her husband's junior, shares three children with the 73-year-old music manager and insists her husband's focus is now on her and her career, saying: "We make changes together. He wants me back. He wants me strong and this is what we're doing together."

Wishing Rene and Celine all the best with their future plans
