As mums, most of us would love nothing more than to spend a good portion of the day (we need a couple of hours to sleep and shower) playing and hanging out with our kids.

Sadly, however, having a job can drastically impact on the amount of time we have to spend with our families, especially if it requires a long commute. But working shouldn’t impact on your family life – we work to live not live to work!

But there is one really simple answer: work from home. And, yes, it is possible.

Mum-of-twin boys, Ali, wanted to find a job that she could do from home while still earning a good wage. Skeptical at first, she now runs her very own business, Stay-at-home Success, and works flexible hours that suit her.

In fact, her success is so great, we now think it's time to finally make the leap and work from home, and here are ten reasons why:

1. You can work your job around your family life
Family comes first but, sadly, long commutes, eight hour jobs and stressful tasks mean family life has to fit around our work.

2. You will become a pro at multitasking
Feeding a baby with one hand while typing an email with the other will seem like the easiest thing in the world.

3. You'll save on transportation costs
No more public transport or getting stuck in traffic for hours BEFORE you've even reached the motorway.

4. You can wear whatever you want
No more spending a fortune on itchy suits or tight trousers - you can work in your pyjamas if you're not planning on leaving the house!

5. You'll save a fortune on childcare
You can work your hours around the kids' school schedule so you won't have to pay an arm and a leg to get someone to mind them.

6. No more forking out for coffee runs
You'll totally get used to the instant stuff in your cupboard... eventually!

7. You'll actually be more productive
When you're not rushing to make yourself presentable or trying to fit as much in before you have to leave the office to collect the kids, you'll actually become more productive.

8. You can fit in a power nap
We all know what it's like to hit the 3pm slump...

9. You won't miss an important school show
As long as you get the work done, you can generally come and go as you please -  no more sneaking out of the office to see your child's ballet show.

10. Better work environment
You'll be able to design your work space exactly as you like it, without worrying about it impacting on your work colleagues.
