10 things mums of seven-year-olds are grateful for

No matter what age your child is, being a mum is extremely tiring, frustrating, joyful, tough, overwhelming... the list could go on.

So we relish ANYTHING that makes it even a teeny bit easier and are extremely grateful for so many things!

If you have a seven- or eight-year-old currently running around your home roaring like a dinosaur or trying to ‘fly’, you’ll definitely be able to relate to the following:

1. Extended family

Babysitters don’t come cheap.

2. Washable markers

That time they decided the white couch could do with a touch of purple could have turned out so much worse.

3. Washing machines

The thoughts of it breaking down and having to wash clothes BY HAND are frightening.

4. The end of the summer holidays

The summer holidays are long enough; we can’t wait for school to roll around...

5. Tear-free shampoo

You just COULDN’T deal with the ear-splitting scream that erupted when the suds only touched their forehead anymore – imagine if it went in their eyes...

6. Kids' Club

Holidays just wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t have those two hours to yourself - don't lie!

7. Trousers with elastic waistbands

Kids grow out of clothes WAY too fast...

8. Invites to birthday parties

Gives you at least two hours of guilt-free ‘me-time’ (or do the grocery shopping in peace!)

9. Tangle teezers

You still wake up in a sweat thinking about that time you had to tackle the BIGGEST knot in your child’s hair history!

10. Wellies

Jumping in puddles is a rite of passage but ruining their good school runners is not!

We love our big kids, we really do.
