Being a mum can be a lonely old time, particularly after when Baby gets a little older and the visitors stop coming.

However, rather than complain of boredom, there are plenty of things you can do that won’t just keep you active, stimulated or entertained but will also encourage a strong bond between you and your infant.

Here are ten things you can do at home or outdoors when it’s just the two of you.

1. Exercise

There are plenty of exercises you can do to keep fit and health that involve your baby. From squats to lunges and stretches to sit ups, you won’t have an excuse to be bored or unfit.

2. Go for a walk

Pop your baby into their buggy and head out for a little adventure together. Whether it is sunny or wet the fresh air will do you the world of good and break up the day a little.

3. Play peek-a-boo

While a really fun game, it will only last for a max of 20 minutes, but is a great activity when trying to keep your little one happy whie you wait for a bottle to be ready.

4. Get creative

If you have an older baby, why not pull out some pencils, crayons or even a little paint and let your creative side loose.

5. Listen to music

Pop on the radio or listen to some of your old favourite songs and get dancing. As you stimulate their sight and sense of touch your little one will delight in the movement.

6. Have a bath

In need of a bit of relaxation? Why not run a bath and enjoy a good long soak just the two of you.

7. Read to them

While they may be too young to really understand what is going on, the time you spend sitting and cuddling together will encourage your baby’s speech development.

8. Head to the park

While you might think there is not much a baby can do in the playground, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to see just how much fun they will have being pushed on the swings.

9. Roll around in the garden

You don’t need to do any rolling, although you are more than welcome to do it if you like... The garden or even the park is a great place to lay your baby on top of a blanket and let them have a good old roll around.

10. Tickle time

You’ll be surprised by how much time you can spend simply tickling and cooing over your little one, seriously!
