A teenage boy appeared at Bradford's Crown Court earlier today following a stabbing incident at a Bradford school on June 11th this year.

The 14-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent to his teacher, Vincent Uzomah, but has denied attempted murder.

Supply teacher, Mr. Uzomah, sustained a stab wound to his stomach after he was assaulted in a classroom of Dixons Kings Academy earlier this month.

According to witness reports, the defendant attacked the teacher following a dispute over a mobile phone at the beginning of a science class.

Having assaulted the 50-year-old educator with a knife obtained from his family home, the court heard that the pupil fled the scene of the attack.

The youth, who was dubbed 'a very troubled young man' by the presiding judge, was detained by police in Bradford city centre six hours after the altercation.

Commenting on the case today, the judge praised Mr. Uzomah, calling him a "very brave and compassionate victim."

The teenage boy at the centre of this case will be sentenced at a later date.

Unfortunately, this is just one of many shocking stabbing incidents we have reported on in recent days.
