As we reach our late twenties and beyond, many of us like to think that the dreaded teen years of battling spots and acne are well and truly over. Unfortunately, while it usually stops in the early twenties, many people can find that they are still suffering from it well into their thirties.

However, whether you still experience a flare up every now and then or not, you might still be battling to cover scarring left on your face.

Thankfully, there are plenty of things you can do to help them fade:

1. Moisturise with a cortisone cream

Cortisone can help to calm your skin and reduce inflammation, and you can usually pick one up on your local pharmacy.

2. Rub on cream containing vitamin A and E

Vitamin A and E will help to improve the skin’s elasticity and therefore the appearance of your scars.

3. Laser treatments

If they are affecting your self-esteem negatively, laser might be your best option. There are various types of treatments available but most will generally cut the skin to stimulate the formation of new collagen to fill in the scars.

4. Exfoliate

Help the fading process by gently exfoliating your face, paying particular attention to the scarring area. While it won’t necessarily get rid or fix the problem at hand, it can help to improve the skin’s appearance and can work well on light scarring.

5. For a more natural approach use honey

Honey helps to promote healing of the skin, killing off bacteria as well. If you have a jar of it in your home simply place a spoonful on your scarring and leave it on for ten minutes.
