What a smart kid!

6-year old Henry Marr wants us to stop abusing our planet before it’s too late. The little boy got emotional after watching a video in school about the way we’re treating the environment – and all we can say is wow.

“Our planet is going to be wrecked,” he said tearfully, in a video posted on his mum Allie Hall’s Facebook page. “People are just being rude to it. They throw trash on the ground, they cut down trees, they make forests into place, into roads.

“They need to think about what they are doing. What they are doing to the planet and what they are doing to animals. They are being so bad. I could just call them dumb people, or maybe even a bad word the “S” word. I’m going to fight them off when I’m a grown up, I hate them.”

“Maybe you can make posters?” his mum interjected gently. “That way you won’t have to fight anyone?

“I’ll do that AND fight,” he replied with determination.

“And I just don’t want animals to die,” he sobbed with a burst of fresh tears. “I wish I was an adult right now. I wish I was an adult so I could do my job.”

The video has received a HUGE response, with many people applauding this smart and compassionate boy for his emotional outburst.

“Children get it. Adults don’t. Yet we think we should teach them,” said one commenter, while another added, “Oh… if only we had the hearts of children.”

“It's really bizarre some people are laughing,” said another. “While it’s cute because he’s young, what he’s saying is all very true, our planet is being ruined by the second. His compassion and empathy for such a tender age is amazing and he will do great things”

While another added: “This young boy is wise beyond his years. If we adults thought more about what we do to harm this earth, we would be living in a much better place. I hope his attitude never changes.”

And that “job” he spoke of? Well now Henry has decided that he wants to be “someone who takes care of the planet” when he grows up. “I just want people to know that I want to have a team of people making the earth be better and not be like sea sick,” he told BuzzFeed News.

We’ve no doubt he’ll go on to do just that.
