When it comes to bedtime, most parents are pretty rigid about not moving it for any reason, much to the disappointment of many children.
However, this genius little girl has found a way to negotiate a new time, and you have to applaud her for it!
7-year-old Evelyn was sick of her 8pm bedtime, especially because it was the same as her four-year-old brother's.
However, rather than just moan about it, the little girl decided that she needed to do something, and she did.
After being told by her parents that she was not to ask for a later bedtime again, she decided to write a negotiation letter, which she "served" to them.
Her dad, Ty Underwood, decided the note was just too good not to share and posted it on Reddit.
The letter reads:
"Dear Mom and Dad. I know you know I should not have a different bed time, but here is why...I am almost 8, Oli (her younger brother) is only 4 and has the exact bed time as me, and why not?
"I really want it. Love, Evelyn Your Grown Up Kid."
That last bit really gets us!
Talking to PopSugar, Ty explained that Evelyn had been looking for a later bedtime for months, and this was a last big attempt to get what she wanted.
“Right before bed one night last week, she handed her letter over in a sealed envelope and told Mary (his wife) that if we wanted to ‘discuss the contents of this letter’ that she would be available anytime,” the father explained.
"We both read it and after deciphering it (she has been working on her handwriting), we laughed about it for a good few minutes.”

But the big question is: did Evelyn manage to change her bedtime?
"We didn’t talk to her about it for a few days and she didn’t bring it up once," Ty explained.
"We decided that type of cleverness and assertive behaviour should be rewarded and we opened the door to negotiations.
"She now gets to stay up until 8:30 p.m. instead of 8 p.m., but that time can only be spent reading in bed and it’s a provisional bedtime.
"If she is late getting ready for school in the mornings since she makes her own lunches, then the bedtime reverts back to 8."
