There's no denying that your child's last year of school is just as emotional as their first!
From dealing with the fact that they're no longer babies to the emotional rollercoaster of dealing with pre-teens, you are bound to be able to relate to the following nine things as the year goes by!
1. Being the oldest in the school, they will consider themselves adults
But they're not... not yet!
2. You WILL feel emotional on their last first day at primary school
And will have NO problem embarrassing them with all your hugging...
3. They will expect to go to be allowed do certain things without you
Eh, WHEN did they become teenagers?!
4. They will get an attitude
Although most would have already mastered the art of back chat years ago!
5. Doors will be slammed as refuse to lift the ban on mobile phones
Sure what would an 11-year-old need with a phone anyway?!
6. Homework WILL be tougher
For you and them!
7. There will be a lot of 'last' things happening throughout the year that you'll insist on documenting
Their last Christmas concert, their last sports day, their note home, their last school tour...
8. They will grow out of their uniform right before Christmas
And you'll be left debating on whether it's worth getting them a new one or not!
9. You'll constantly find yourself asking: "Where has my baby gone?"
Don't worry they'll still need you.. when they're looking for money!
