Angelina Jolie could lose primary custody of her six children to Brad Pitt, a judge ruled, unless she follows new guidance from the court.

The pair has been separated since September 2016, when the Tomb Raider actress requested physical custody of Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and nine-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

Now, court documents obtained by The Blast show that the 43-year-old mum is being ordered to help improve her children's relationship with their father or risk losing primary custody.

The judge in the divorce case said that for the children 'not having a relationship with their father is harmful to them'.

The ruling states: “If the minor children remain closed down to their father and depending on the circumstances surrounding this condition, it may result in a reduction of the time they spend with [Angelina Jolie] and may result in the Court ordering primary physical custody to [Brad Pitt].”

As well, the judge noted that 'it is critical that each of them have a healthy and strong relationship with their father and mother'.

In order for this to happen, the judge laid down some steps, including that Angelina arrange to ensure their children understand that 'the court has determined that each of them are safe with their father'.

The Ocean's Eleven actor was accused of being verbally and physically abusive with their eldest, Maddox, in 2016, but was cleared.

The Girl, Interrupted actress was told to provide Brad with the cell phone numbers of all the children and allow him to call at any time.

She is not allowed to read their text messages with the 54-year-old actor or secretly monitor the phone.

The summer schedule for the parents' custody has been laid out to ensure that the kids get enough face time with their father.

Maddox was not included in the arrangements because he was deemed old enough to choose how much time to spend with his dad.

While the children are staying with the Moneyball star, Angelina can only call once a day at a time that they have both predetermined.
