Belfast mum Marie McKee was celebrating her 50th birthday with family and friends, when her son Kevin gave her the shock of her life, turning up unexpectedly after spending the past two years in Australia.
His over-the-moon mum screamed, grabbed her son and held him tight and sobbed into his shoulder.
Kevin had decided to leave Oz a few months before, so he planned the surprise with a co-conspirator, his brother Padraig. Of course he didn’t let his mam in on it, instead choosing to make her 50th a night to remember.
"My wee brother made a surprise return home and my mum had no clue!” Padraig told Belfast Live.
"We had been planning the surprise for a good four or five months.
"On the night of the party the singer we had was singing happy birthday and we got Kevin to come in through a door behind the stage so it was a perfect entrance. There wasn't a dry eye in the place.”
Nor is there one in here Padraig!
These bittersweet reunion videos always reduce us to tears. They serve to remind us of the importance of family, and that nothing makes a mum happier than being surrounded by her beloved kids.
