What better way to kick the weekend off, than with some adorable baby news?!

Congratulations are in order today, with the announcement that Benedict Cumberbatch and his wife, Sophie Hunter, are set to become parents for the second time.

The secret was revealed by E!News this morning, just hours after the loved-up couple hit the red carpet for an event in Los Angeles, promoting Benedict’s new movie, Doctor Strange.

Neither Benedict nor Sophie have issued statements just yet, and no further details regarding due date or gender have been revealed. We will, of course, keep you updated, however!

The couple, who wed in a romantic ceremony on Valentine’s Day last year, are already parents to one-year-old son Christopher Carlton.

Benedict, 40, recently opened up about fatherhood in an interview, describing it as ‘massively’ life-changing.

“It’s massive, and on a very unexpected level. Suddenly, I understood my parents much more profoundly than I ever had before…You understand much more about being a son, becoming a father,” he told Vanity Fair.

What an exciting time for the family! We’re wishing Sophie all the best with her pregnancy journey.
