Having tied the knot on Valentine's Day this year, one of Hollywood's most popular couples became proud parents for the first time just months later when they welcomed a baby son into the life they share together.

While Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter initially chose to keep the name of their little boy under wraps since his arrival in June, it looks like the smitten couple have now decided to reveal all.

According to a report in the Mail on Sunday, Sophie and the Sherlock star have named their first son Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch.

Christopher, who was born amid much press attention in London's Portland Hospital at the beginning of the summer, is said to have inherited  his father and grandfather's middle name, but the decision behind his first one has yet to be revealed!

Fans and followers of the much-loved couple have spent much of 2015 glued to their social media feeds in the hopes the star couple would offer an insight into this new exciting chapter in their lives, but apart from confirming the pregnancy through a spokesperson in January and announcing Christopher's arrival almost three months ago, it has been relatively quiet in the Hunter / Cumberbatch camp.

While various other high-profile couples choose to share images and footage of their latest arrival on Instagram, Sophie and Benedict bucked the trend and requested that their bonding time as a new family be respected by fans and media alike.

Releasing a statement to People magazine, Christopher's overjoyed parents said: "We would kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during these next few precious weeks."

We can only imagine how adorable little Christopher Carlton Cumberbatch is so we understand why his loving parents want to keep him all to themselves for the time being!
