If you’re thinking that Singapore isn’t the most child-friendly destination in the world, then I'm here to prove you wrong! Clean, safe and full of culture, there’s plenty to see and do on this vibrant island. The best part is that it’s small enough for all the attractions to be ‘nearby’ so there’ll be no complaining about tired legs and most definitely not about being bored. Check out my top selections below!

Night Safari
The world’s first safari park for nocturnal animals, Night Safari is a wildlife park with a twist. Visit at nightfall to catch over 2500 animals in their natural habitats. A guided tram ride will take you through the seven continents of the world, teaching you about the animals whilst you try to spot them – don’t worry; you’re also free to wander around at your own pace too! The Night Safari also supports a great cause, helping to successfully breed endangered species such as Malayan tigers, Asian elephants and Asian lions, among others! So you can enjoy your trip, knowing that you’re helping the planet too!
7.30pm – midnight 80 Mandai Lake Road, Singapore 729826 nightsafari.com.sg

Science Centre
With 20,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor space, there’s something at the Science Centre to excite and engage every member of the family! Jammed full with interactive exhibits and optical illusions, you can travel to the centre of the earth, experience an earthquake, learn all about everything from odd and wacky inventions to the solar system, the human body and climate change. Set aside a whole day to spend here because the kids will never want to leave! Who knew science could be so much fun?
10am – 6pm 15 Science Centre Rd, Singapore 609081 science.edu.sg

Jurong Bird Park
Whether you’re more of a fan of penguins or parrots, Jurong Bird Park has almost every feathered friend you could ever imagine. With over 200 hectares of natural habitat, 8000 birds and 600 species, the park gives you the chance to really experience life in the sky, with many of the birds flying freely around. The African Waterfall Aviary houses over 600 birds – as well as a 30-metre high waterfall – and the Lory Loft Aviary is just like an Australian habitat, with a suspended bridge for you to walk across. The kids will just love the up-close encounters where birds will eat right from their hands!
8.30am – 6pm 2 Jurong Hill, Singapore 628925 birdpark.com.sg

Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden at the Singapore Botanic Gardens
Asia’s very first garden especially for children, Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden is all about teaching your kids the importance of the environment through fun and exploration. Designed to the theme of ‘All Life on Earth Depends on Plants’; take a visit to this wacky garden and you’ll be sure to nurture an appreciation of nature. A unique and interactive place, children up to 12 years of age can discover just how important plants are in their lives – and the best part is that it’s free!

Snow City
If you want to escape the hot and sticky heat for a few hours or you simply want to indulge in a slice of the novelty factor, Snow City is for you. That’s right; it’s an indoor snow chamber in the middle of Asia. Your kids will just love the snow slope, ice sculptures, giant igloo and they’re even allowed to have a snow ball fight! For older children, there’s skiing and snowboarding available too. The entrance is a cool 10c to let you slowly adjust before going inside where it’s a snowy -5c – so remember to wrap up warm! If you forget, winter coats and boots are provided as part of admission and everything else can be hired.

Underwater World
Make like Disney’s Ariel and explore the world under the sea. Marvel at the hundreds of different types of fish at Underwater World on Sentosa Island – There’s more than 250 species, including octopuses, stringrays, turtles, eels, sharks and many more! Walk along a submerged tunnel to see them swimming above and around you or check out the stingray feeding pool. You can even swim with dolphins or dive with sharks if you really want to! What secrets will you discover hidden under the sea?

Discovery Centre
Breathing truly exciting life into the term ‘edutainment’, the Discovery Centre is an interactive museum that aims to teach both locals and visitors about Singapore’s past, present and future in a fun, hands-on way.
