Experts from Harvard University believe that eternal youth can be achieved after they discovered a natural compound proven to undo the effects of aging in mice.
The protein known as NAD is found in all living cells, and is now believed to be the key ingredient to help slow down the age process.
Researchers tested two-year-old mice by giving them NAD-producing compounds and after only a week, the mice had body tissue which resembled that of a six-month old.
Professor David Sinclair, expert in genetics at Harvard Medical School said: “In human years, this would be like a 60-year-old converting to a 20-year-old in these specific areas.”
Commenting on these remarkable finding, Tim Spector, of genetic epidemiology at King’s College London, said: “This is an intriguing and exciting finding that some aspects of the ageing process are reversible.”
Although these results are amazing, experts are looking to do further research to find real anti-ageing effects in humans that won’t have side effects – for now, a high water intake diet should do the trick.
