An incredible photo of a teenage girl confronting a Neo-Nazi at a far-right rally in the Czech Republic has gone viral.

Clad in her Girl Scout uniform, 16-year-old Lucie Myslíková stood firm as she faced the threatening skinhead demonstrator at a Mayday rally in Brno.

Despite the demonstrator gesticulating at her and the presence of armed police, the young teen remained steadfast.

Lucie and her fellow Scouts and a group of Guides were at a counter-protest against the rally when the photograph was taken.

According to a Czech police spokesman, more people turned out to protest against the rally than take part in it.

Her display of defiance was shared online by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) to their Facebook page. They wrote: “Lucie, a Scout from Junak in discussion with a supporter of extreme right movements in Brno.

“People from all walks of life, and scouts among them came to the streets during an extreme right march yesterday to express their support for values of diversity, peace and understanding. Creating a better world!”

Photographer Vladimir Cicmanec, who took the viral image told CNN : “She was standing tall and she’s 16 years old and she stood proudly and made some profound arguments.”

He added: “We wanted to show the neo-Nazis that they are not welcome here. This year the counter-protest was to make fun of and to troll the Nazis.”

Cicmanec was taking photos at the rally when his friend drew his attention to the exchange between the Girl Scout and the demonstrator.

"I didn't hear all of their exchange but they were talking about the concept of nations and nation-states, immigration, refugees," he said.

"She tried to explain to him that nationalism makes no sense because we are all people and should not be treated differently based on some arbitrary distinctions."

According to the Scouts of the Czech Republic, Lucie described the exchange as “a sharp debate.”

The amazing image has had over four thousand shares and almost ten thousand reactions on the WOSM’s Facebook page.

Brave Lucie's behaviour is inspiring and it is heartening to see a young person sticking up for what they believe in.
