Rosacea is a skin condition that causes small red bumps, redness and dilated blood vessels in the face.  While it occurs in both men and women, it is more common for ladies over the age of 40 to experience it. Sufferers will experience it on their cheeks, forehead, chin and nos, and while there is no known cure there are a number of things you can do to help it:

Wear suncream
Make sure you wear suncream with a high SPF every day, even in the winter to protect your skin. The sun can actually cause your rosacea to be worse, so stay protected.

Wash with mild products
Only use mild, non-perfumed cleansers and moisturisers on your skin.

Don’t exfoliate
Avoid using any exfoliating products as they can irritate your skin.

Things to avoid
The following is a list of things that can cause rosacea to flare up: drinking alcohol, eating spicy food, exercise and extreme temperatures. While it is not possible to avoid all on this list, particularly exercising, try to keep triggers to a minimum.

Laser treatment
For severe cases, there are a number of laser treatments that you can undergo.

Make-up
There are a number of make-ups available that can hide any skin problems, just be aware that this is not a permanent solution.
