Let's be honest, slipping out for a catch-up to the local coffee shop is becoming pricer than ever. And even though it might be giving you a break from the kids for an hour, it makes a dint in your purse.
However, now a coffee price war is brewing as EasyJet's founder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou, wants to open 200 coffee shops - with a cuppa Joe only costing £1.
The EasyCoffee shops want to introduce warm winter drinks that won't break the bank, but still taste as good as its rivals, Starbucks, Costa Coffee and Cafe Nero.
Stelios business partner, Nathan Lowry said of the move:"The gap in the market is in pricing. The coffee is great. We use the same machines that all the big guys use, all our staff are highly trained up to barista level.
"We genuinely feel that people are paying too much for their coffee in the UK."
The company plans to open a dozen stores in the next six months which will include locations in Croydon and Wembley in London and High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire.
Nathan said that he has also received over 200 proposals to open franchises all over the country.
Well, that's going to be better than paying a fiver in Starbucks!
