Just last week, we reported how her company was facing major criticism over a product that fans had branded ‘useless’, and the reports have clearly had a huge impact on this star.

Days after Jessica Alba and her company, The Honest Company, were slammed by users of their suncream, the mother-of-two has spoken out to apologise to her customers.

The Honest Company suncream received some very bad reviews, with an investigation revealing that manufacturers had reduced the cream’s zinc content and replaced it with other natural ingredients. It is believed that this substitution caused the cream to be less effective in protecting skin against the harmful rays of the sun.

In a statement released with the company’s co-founder, Christopher Gavigan, Sin City star Jessica said: “Protecting our loved ones and yours is the reason we founded The Honest Company. As parents, it pains us to hear that anyone has had a negative experience with our sunscreen. We develop and use Honest Sunscreen to protect our own children Honor, Haven, Luke, Evie and Poppy—at the park, in the pool, outside, every day.”

They went on to defend their decision to change the sun cream’s recipe, saying that they did so in order to create a product that could be more easily applied and felt lighter. However, they insisted that their customers are their priority, and they will be reaching out to all those who had a negative experience with their product.

“For those who have expressed concerns about our sunscreen lotion, we want you to know that we hear you and we're here for you. As always, we'll do what it takes to make it right,” they added.

Jessica is mother to daughters Honor and Haven.
