For families, most days are pretty much the same; breakfast, lunch, school, dinner, homework, activities, bed.
While the finer details are different for many, the process is much of the same.
But in the Evenson's household, Thursday was a very special day - a day of excitement.
Because among the finer details of their household was the fact the kids adored their local bin men.
Every Thursday, Brandon Olsen and Taylor Fritz came to collect the garbage, but each time they arrived, the Evenson girls ran to the window to wave.
The Fairmont family had a little tradition, when they would wave out the window, the men would wave back, generating much excitement in the house.
One day, Brandon and Taylor, even came to the door to deliver some goodies to the girls - surprising them with sweets.
For payback, the girls baked some snacks the following week, with the exchange brightening up their mornings each week.
"When they hear the truck, they frantically scramble to the window yelling, "The garbage men are here!!". Because every Thursday, the garbage men watch for them in the window and grin and wave at them," explained Mum Angie.
However, Angie also revealed that their three-year-old daughter, Rosie, was diagnosed with cancer, since then, their Thursday ritual hasn't been continuing each week, just the Thursdays they happen to be home.
Not wanting the guys to wonder where they have been disappearing to, Angie decided it would be a good idea to leave them a note, to let them know what's been going on.
But it broke their hearts; the note explained the reason the family had been missing some mornings, Rosie had stage four kidney cancer, with many of her appointments scheduled on Thursdays.
Brandon and Taylor were so heartbroken, they instantly sprung to action, wanting to help the family in any small way they could.
And while their heartfelt donation was small in their eyes, it was a huge leap for the Evenson's: "They delivered a letter and the two men informed me that, as employees, they receive free garbage service."
"They said they talked to their boss and asked to transfer their free service to us for a year."
The note read: "We know that expenses will add up as you make trips for this needed treatment, and hope that not having this one bill to deal with helps, even if just a little."
"As parents ourselves, we can only imagine what this is like for you. We want to wish you the best of luck as you fight on and battle through. Best wishes for a successful treatment and recovery. Stay strong, fight hard, stick together."
The family have been undertaking fundraising efforts for their daughter, however, they were touched by the kindness displayed by Brandon and Taylor, two men who brightened up the girls' Thursdays.
"I was moved to tears and squeaked out a drastically-insufficient 'thank you'. Brandon and Taylor, your kind gesture is priceless," added the mum-of-four.
This mum is not the only person reduced to tears - the community support is incredibly moving, here's hoping Rosie makes a full recovery.
