He is as well known for his no-nonsense attitude as he is for his amazing skills in the kitchen, so we’ve often wondered if celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s potty mouth has rubbed off on his children.

While his daughter, Matilda, may be following in her father’s footsteps by fronting her own cookery show, it seems that cursing is not something that runs in the family.

Indeed, appearing on The Jimmy Kimmel Show last night, Gordon revealed that his children do not curse at all!

The Hell’s Kitchen star – who is dad to 16-year-old Megan, 15-year-old twins Jack and Holly, and 13-year-old Matilda – revealed that he has come up with an inventive way to stop his kids from using bad language – by substituting food and kitchen phrases!

While the 48-year-old thinks it’s a wonderful idea to sub words like shiitake (mushroom) and asparagus for certain bad words however, it appears that his children’s teachers aren’t in agreement with his interesting approach to parenting.
