It is undoubtedly one of the most emotional days of his life, and Louis Tomlinson has broken his silence after the passing of his beloved mum, Johannah.

 

The former One Direction star, who is set to perform live on tonight’s X Factor, took to Twitter to thank fans for their support and well wishes - just a day after the sad news of his mum’s death broke.

 

 

“All the support has been incredible! Let’s do this together tonight,” tweeted the 24-year-old singer.

 

It has been a whirlwind 24 hours for the star, who is dad to 11-month-old son Freddie.

 

Shortly after Johannah’s husband, Dan, issued a statement confirming that she had lost her battle with leukaemia; it emerged that Louis is to make his debut solo performance tonight, on the show that launched his career.

 

 

Louis will take to the X Factor stage to sing Just Hold On, with DJ Steve Aoki, in accordance with the late Johannah’s wishes.

 

Since news of the mum-of-seven’s passing broke, fans and friends of Louis have reached out to the star.

 

The One Direction boys were among the first to send messages of condolence to a grieving Louis.
