Remember a few months back, when Instagram was going mad for marbled nail art? Well, we have reached the next level.

A U.S based hair stylist has taken inspiration from the marble nail trend, and has turned it into her signature technique.

Over the past few years, Ash Fortis has perfected the art of hair marbling, and it is proving to be popular with Instagram users.

Ash spoke to the gorgeous ladies at Allure, explaining that "nail art is a huge influence of mine, so I thought, How can I bring it to hair?"

A swirly technique is used to achieve a multicoloured marble-like finish that looks completely different from the other rainbow-hair looks all over social media.

According to Allure, Ash "applies a layer of shaving cream onto foam mesh strips called Embee Meche. Then she drops different complementary colours of vibrant hair dye on top.

"Next, she wields the back of her colour brush to trace figure-eight shapes into the the shaving cream with the dyes. This creates the swirled design. After that, she presses the design onto a small section of platinum-blonde hair and places a clear Embee Meche on top."

Not something we could attempt at home, so.

Anyway, we've done a round up of some of the coolest marble-hair looks online, so get ready to feel inspired.
