She announced her pregnancy news last week, revealing that she is expecting her third child with her husband, and already yoga instructor and fitness fanatic Hilaria Baldwin is sending out a strong body image message.
Hilaria, who is expecting a son with actor husband Alec, took to Instagram to share her first baby bump selfie in a bid to show other mothers and mums-to-be that they ‘don’t need to be ashamed or hide the pregnant figure’.
Admitting that she ‘didn’t have the guts’ to post bump selfies while pregnant with two-year-old daughter Carmen, Hilaria – who is also mum to nine-month-old son Rafael – said she wanted to share her positive view of the female body and all it’s capable of.
“Being my third baby in three years, I am a true believer that our bodies are amazing, and we should celebrate them, rather than feel embarrassed and hide until the baby weight is entirely gone. For both women and men: we create life…so let’s honour how we make these miracles. Every pregnancy is different, so we shall see what happens this time around. Ready to take the journey with me?” she wrote.
While many have praised Hilaria’s positive message, she will undoubtedly split opinion with this latest shot. She was criticised last year for sharing a post-baby underwear selfie, with women insisting that she did not represent the ‘average’ woman.
