When your parents are two of the most famous and successful actors in the world, it makes sense that you might catch the movie bug yourself, and this is exactly the case for this young up-and-comer.

Angelina Jolie has announced plans to direct a new movie for Netflix, and eldest son Maddox is set to star in her latest work.

The mother-of-six will be shooting the film adaptation of First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers, a memoir from Cambodian activist Loung Ung.

While Maddox’s exact role has not yet been revealed, a press release from online streaming service Netflix confirmed that the 13-year-old will be “involved in the production of the film”.

Speaking after the announcement, the 40-year-old explained: “I was deeply affected by Loung’s book. It deepened forever my understanding of how children experience war and are affected by the emotional memory of it. And it helped me draw closer still to the people of Cambodia, my son’s homeland.”

She went on to describe working on the adaptation as “a dream come true”.

Angelina and husband Brad Pitt previously said that they didn’t want their children following them into acting, but it seems that they have changed their tune since daughter Vivienne made a cameo in Maleficent.
