Long are the days of lazy about in bed on a Saturday morning or nursing a hangover on a Sunday, oh no, the weekends are very, very different when you have kids.

Up early

As we’ve already mentioned, lie-ins are definitely a thing of the past and will only be a part of your future when the kids have upped and left! You’re up and at ‘em at times when you would have just been coming home after a night out. Oh how times have changed.

Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning

It’s a sad sight when you realise that the cleaning you never did during the week is still there. Piles and piles of washing are sitting there laughing at you as you realise that you can’t put it off any longer!

Coffee on the go

Leisurely afternoons in the coffee shop are so far from your memory you can’t even remember the last time you didn’t order a coffee to go!  Going from ballet to hockey and back again means you spend a lot of your day in the car. It could be worse though, at least you get to have a cup - even if most of it spills on you.

Standing on a freezing cold pitch

Whether you’re getting stuck right in there annoying the coach or wondering if anyone would notice if you silently slipped away, standing on a freezing cold pitch is a staple of your weekend activities.

Breaking up sibling fights

Before kids, your weekends were breaking up fights between friends, now it’s between your own off-spring! Seriously, you’re starting to consider if the lets just ignore the blood approach works....

Making your home even more chaotic by inviting other kids over

As if you didn’t have enough on your plate, you’ve kindly invited your kids’ friends to come over and play. But the rain has meant they are literally under your feet and that cleaning you did this morning is a distant memory.
